New England Silvers Championship Meet- Wayland, MA – February 19-21
The Stowe Swimmers rocked Silvers, the 2nd Championship meet out of 3, in the 2016 New England Swimming Championship series! Four Swimmers qualified for 6 events. Heidi Brynn qualified for the Female 15-18 50 Freestyle. Justin Diamond qualified for the Boys 13-14 100 Freestyle. Carter Friedrich qualified in the Boys 9 y.o. 50 Breaststroke. And Brock Roick qualified for Three events in the 9 y.o. age group, the 100 Freestyle, the 50 Backstroke, and the 100 Breaststroke.
Carter Friedrich was the Swimmers first competitor of the weekend! He started things off right with a stunning performance in the 50 Breaststroke! Carter achieved his Lifetime Best in his event with a time of 51.30 seconds. Cater placed 15th overall in this highly contested event!

Heidi Brynn qualified for the Girls 15-18 50 Freestyle last weekend at the Regional Championships, and she took to the stage again! At the age of Fifteen, She competed against girls up to 18 years of age, showing them that she belonged!! She placed 31st overall with a time 27.86.
Justin Diamond qualified in the Boys 13-14 100 Butterfly. And fly he did! He achieved his Lifetime Best time of 1:04.38 in this highly contested event. He won his heat, beating everyone to wall in a very suspenseful race as there were a few on his tail the entire way! He placed 9th overall!
Brock Roick, rocked the stage at the 2016 New England Silver Championships bringing home Two Gold and a Bronze! Brock qualified for three individual events, the 100 Freestyle, the 50 Backstroke, and the 100 Breaststroke! Brock brought home the Bronze in the 50 Backstroke and was crowned the 2016 New England Swimming Silver Champ in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke! He set Lifetime Bests in these two events and qualified him for the 2016 Age Group Championships, the final Meet in New England’s Championship meet series. He also broke the Stowe Swimmers Club record in the 100 Freestyle with a mind-numbing time of 1:12.40! His 100 Breaststroke time of 1:37.87 left participants in his wake!

Two Athletes will represent the Stowe Swimmers Swim Club at 2016 New England Age Group Championships this coming weekend at UVAC. Rudd Day has qualified in 7 individual events, the 50 Fly, Free, back and breaststroke, and the 100 Freestyle, Breaststroke, and the the 100 IM. Brock Roick has qualified in 6 events, the 50 Fly, Free, and Breaststroke. Brock has also qualified for the 100 IM, and with this past weekend’s performance, the 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.
